The Chattahoochee Valley Daylily Festival

The Chattahoochee Valley Daylily Festival at the Columbus Botanical Garden is bringing the blooms back! There will be daylilies galore, garden goods, a daylily class and a daylily show. Plus, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and more.

This community favorite is hosted by the Chattahoochee Valley Daylily Society, the Columbus Botanical Garden and the UGA Extension.

What are daylilies?

Did you know daylilies aren’t actually lilies at all? Daylilies grow from fleshy roots, whereas true lilies grow from onion-like bulbs. These low-maintenance perennials are fairly hardy plants.

Daylilies can tolerate and grow in uneven sunlight, poor soil and drought-like conditions. They are known to be virtually disease-and pest-free too.

What’s more are the number of varieties! There are thousands of gorgeous daylilies to choose from. Take time to plan your planting and select early, mid-season and late blooming daylilies to enjoy the flowers from late spring through the first frost of fall.

Location

The Chattahoochee Valley Daylily Festival is being held at the Columbus Botanical Garden located at 3603 Weems Road. Come tour the gardens and enjoy the vendors from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The daylily show is in the Adams Farmhouse. It starts at 1:30 p.m.
