Columbus Axe in downtown Columbus is the third in a series of axe-throwing ventures. The first took root in Prattville, Alabama, with a sister location in Wetumpka opening up a little later on. At first, Auburn was selected as the third site. However, Columbus was ultimately picked as the third location.
The downtown life, coupled with small town vibe, attracted Columbus Axe to set up shop in Columbus’ vibrant downtown scene. Owners of Columbus Axe hoped to settle in the area before something similar launched.
Chucking It Up
Axe-throwing can be best described as akin to darts or bowling. Though, at a much faster pace. There’s usually little time to spare between throws.

Before play starts, a professional guides the party (or person) through the basics. After that, it’s completely up to guests on what games to play and how points are rewarded.

Due to high demand, it’s recommended that parties schedule reservations. Columbus Axe in Downtown Columbus is open Thurs., 5 to 10 p.m., Fri., 5 to 11 p.m., and Sat., 12 to 11 p.m. For one hour of play, the cost rings up $20 per person.
